Paradise and Hell (2)

Surah Al-Baqarah 35 :

waqul’nā   yāādamu  us’kun  anta  wazawjuka  l-janata  wakulā  min’hā  raghadan  ḥaythu  shi’tumā  walā  taqrabā  hādhihi  l-shajarata  fatakūnā  mina  l-ẓālimīna

And We said, “O Adam, dwell, you and your wife, in Paradise and eat therefrom in [ease and] abundance from wherever you will. But do not approach this tree, lest you be among the wrongdoers.”

Surah Al-A’raf 27 :

yābanī  ādama  lā  yaftinannakumu  l-shayṭānu  kamā  akhraja  abawaykum  mina  l-janati  yanziʿu  ʿanhumā  libāsahumā  liyuriyahumā  sawātihimā

O children of Adam, let not Satan tempt you as he removed your parents from Paradise, stripping them of their clothing to show them their private parts

innahu  yarākum  huwa  waqabīluhu  min  ḥaythu  lā  tarawnahum

Indeed, he (Satan) sees you, he and his tribe, from where you do not see them

Surah Ali ‘Imran 142 :

am  ḥasib’tum  an  tadkhulū  l-janata  walammā  yaʿlami  l-lahu  alladhīna  jāhadū  minkum  wayaʿlama  l-ṣābirīna

Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while Allah has not yet made evident those of you who fight in His cause and made evident those who are steadfast?

Surah An-Nahl 32 :

alladhīna   tatawaffāhumu   l-malāikatu  ṭayyibīna  yaqūlūna  salāmun  ʿalaykumu  ud’khulū  l-janata  bimā  kuntum  taʿmalūna

The ones whom the angels take in death, [being] good and pure; [the angels] will say, “Peace be upon you. Enter Paradise for what you used to do.”

Surah Az-Zumar 71 :

wasīqa  alladhīna  kafarū  ilā  jahannama  zumaran  ḥattā  idhā  jāūhā  futiḥat  abwābuhā  waqāla  lahum  khazanatuhā  alam  yatikum  rusulun  minkum  yatlūna  ʿalaykum  āyāti  rabbikum  wayundhirūnakum  liqāa  yawmikum  hādhā  qālū  balā  walākin  ḥaqqat  kalimatu  l-ʿadhābi  ʿalā  l-kāfirīna

And those who disbelieved will be driven to Hell in groups until, when they reach it, its gates are opened and its keepers will say, “Did there not come to you messengers from yourselves, reciting to you the verses of your Lord and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?” They will say, “Yes, but the word of punishment has come into effect upon the disbelievers

Surah An-Nisa 93 :

waman  yaqtul  mu’minan  mutaʿammidan  fajazāuhu  jahannamu  khālidan  fīhā  waghaḍiba  l-lahu  ʿalayhi  walaʿanahu  wa-aʿadda  lahu  ʿadhāban  ʿaẓīman

But whoever kills a believer intentionally – his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him and has cursed him and has prepared for him a great punishment

Surah At-Tawbah 68 :

waʿada  l-lahu  l-munāfiqīna  wal-munāfiqāti  wal-kufāra  nāra  jahannama  khālidīna  fīhā  hiya  ḥasbuhum  walaʿanahumu  l-lahu  walahum  ʿadhābun  muqīmun

Allah has promised the hypocrite men and hypocrite women and the disbelievers the fire of Hell, wherein they will abide eternally. It is sufficient for them. And Allah has cursed them, and for them is an enduring punishment

Surah Al-Kahf 106 :

dhālika  jazāuhum  jahannamu  bimā  kafarū  wa-ittakhadhū  āyātī  warusulī  huzuwan

That is their recompense – Hell – for what they denied and [because] they took My signs and My messengers in ridicule

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Allah said: I have prepared for My righteous servants what no eye has seen and no ear has heard, not has it occurred to human heart.  (Sahih al-Bukhari, Muslim, at-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah)

On the authority of Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Allah will say to the inhabitants of Paradise: O inhabitants of Paradise! They will say: O our Lord, we present ourselves and are at Your pleasure, and goodness rests in Your hands. Then He will say: Are you contented? And they will say: And how should we not be contented, O Lord, when You have given to us that which You have given to no one else of Your creation? Then He will say: Would you not like Me to give you something better than that? And they will say: O Lord and what thing is better than that? And He will say: I shall cause My favour to descend upon you and thereafter shall never be displeased with you. (Sahih al-Bukhari, Muslim and at-Tirmidhi).
