Al-Ikhlas (Sincerity)

Derived from

khā lām ṣād

mukh’liṣīna (masculine active participle) = being sincere, being chosen
khāliṣatan (femine active participle) = only, exclusively
l-khāliṣu (masculine active participle) = the pure
l-mukh’laṣīna (masculine passive participle) = the chosen ones, the sincere ones

 

Surah Al-Ikhlas 1-4

qul  huwa   l-lahu   ahadun
Say, He is    Allah   the One

al-lahu    l-samadu
Allah     the Eternal

lam    yalid     walam     yulad
He   neither   begets   nor   is   He  begotten

walam  yakun   lahu    kufuwan   ahadun
Nor  is   there to Him   any   equivalent

 

Narrated Abu Hurairah:
“I went out with the Messenger of Allah and heard a man reciting Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad [Allahus-Samad] so the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘It is obligatory.’ I said: ‘What is obligatory?’ He said: ‘Paradise.'”‏
