Basic Islamic beliefs :

1. Belief in Allah, the one and only God

Allah is the one and only God worthy of worship. Allah is the Creator, the Almighty, the All-Knowing, the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing, the Sovereign of Judgement Day, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful, the Beginning (Al-Awwal), the End (Al-Akhirrul), the Giver of Life, the Causer of Death, the Giver of Honor, the Giver of Dishonor, the Judge, the Most Just, the Initiator, the Designer, the Delayer, The Expediter, the Governor, the Protector, the Apparent, the Hidden, the Compeller, the Subtle

2. Belief in the existence of Angels

Angels do not have free will. They are always in total obedience to Allah and His commands. Some Angels’ names mentioned in the Holy Book Quran are Mikail, Jibreel and Israfeel. Angels do not have a physical body like humans, but they can take appear as regular humans

Surah Al-An’am 6:8-9

And they say, “Why was there not sent down to him an angel?” But if We had sent down an angel, the matter would have been decided; then they would not be reprieved.

And if We had made him an angel, We would have made him [appear as] a man, and We would have covered them with that in which they cover themselves.

3. Belief in the Holy Books revealed by Allah

Surah Al Imran 3:3
It is He Who has sent down the Book (the Quran) to you (Muhammad SAW) with truth, confirming what came before it. And he sent down the Taurat and the Injeel

Surah Al-Isra 17:55
And your Lord knows best all who are in the heavens and the earth. And indeed, We have preferred some of the Prophets above others, and to Dawud,We gave the Zabur

4. Belief that Prophets are Messengers of Allah

Surah Al-Ahzab 33:40
Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Last of the prophets; and Allah has full knowledge of all things

Surah Al-Ahzab 33:7
And (remember) when We took from the Prophets their covenant, and from you (O Muhammad SAW), and from Nuh (Noah), Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses), and ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary). We took from them a strong covenant

5. Belief that Day of Judgement is true

On the Day of Judgement, Allah will resurrect the dead and all persons will be judged. Allah is the All Knowing, nothing is hidden from Allah.

Surah Al-Haqqah 69:18
That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden

Surah An-Naml 27:75
And there is nothing hidden in the heaven or the earth but it is in a clear Record

6. Belief in Predestination
Allah is All-Knowing, the Best Planner

Surah Al-Qamar 54:49
Indeed, all things We created with predestination

Surah An-Naml 27:50
And they planned a plan, and We planned a plan, while they perceived not

7. Belief in the Hereafter

Surah Quraysh 16:107
That is because they preferred the worldly life over the Hereafter and that Allah does not guide the disbelieving people
